Whitman-Walker
Clinic is a non-profit, volunteer based lesbian and gay community
health organization serving the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. Since 1973,
the Clinic has been a leader in providing high quality, accessible and culturally
sensitive health, mental health, and addictions treatment services to the
area's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.
Whitman-Walker
also plays a substantial role in the fight against AIDS. Our AIDS program,
established in 1983, is one of the most recognized and respected in the United
States. The Clinic provides AIDS services to anyone in need, to include primary
medical care, legal support, case management, mental health and addiction
treatment, housing and much more. Services are provided to all people regardless
of their ability to pay Today, the Clinic touches the lives of two out of
every three people living with AIDS in the Washington, DC area.
PSYCHIATRIC INSTITUTE OF WASHINGTON
The
Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral
healthcare for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults suffering
from emotional and addictive illnesses. PIW offers all levels of treatment
including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, 24-hour crisis
care, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency.
PIW is a short-term, acute care hospital and health system helping people
deal with a wide variety of psychiatric and addictive problems.
Since 1967 PIW has been combining
the rich traditions of its past with the behavioral health options of the
present. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring,
dedicated people, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare
treatment. |
